Are You Being Served?

Are You Being Served?

I've been up all night, unable to sleep thinking about the prospect of an early retirement and a healthy pension, enjoying myself on my yacht in the sun; let's face it every dog has his day and I've always loved Turkey.

These are just some random songs I like in no particular order, if I may have your attention.

They mean an awful lot to me, I hope they mean something to you, the sound quality isn't great but when you watch the video too you should understand, I'm happy to let others Judge.

Judas Priest - Breaking The Law (youtube.com)

I've always admired the Dirty Harry franchise, all the other cops were scared of him, he could get into trouble working the Subway on the late shift but he never worried about the pension and the Chief Inspector always let him carry the can, candidly.

George Thorogood & The Destroyers - Bad To The Bone (Dirty Harry Tribute) (youtube.com)

I love this song, this is the original although it's been widely covered, It certainly deserves to be. The impression I get from the video is that it's a lament about how some people reckon they own the streets and underestimate the brilliance and madness of the working classes.

Cherry Ghost - "People Help The People" (youtube.com)

The Stereophonics are great

Stereophonics - Maybe Tomorrow (youtube.com)

This is a song I came across on Spotify, now I'm a huge fan of the band.

Teenage Bottlerocket - Bigger Than Kiss (Official Video) - YouTube

The next song reminds me of my brother in law who used to got to Rock City in Nottingham before becoming a respected Stress Engineer doing secret work in the Aerospace industry.

Teenage Bottlerocket - Headbanger (Official Video) (youtube.com)

I thought I'd take a break from Rock music and pay tribute to my dear mum, whatever arguments we've had over the years we're still a strong family. Listen carefully to the next one.

Elkie Brooks - Pearl's A Singer (youtube.com)

And one for my dad, a very proud man. He's especially proud of his family's long record of military service, he was always ready to shed blood for a noble cause.

Al Green - I'm Glad You're Mine (Official Lyric Video) (youtube.com)

Here's one for my favourite Quack Psychiatrists; it's a sad song but I like the lyrics and the vocals are so clear and precise, as they are in all these numbers.

Lumberlung - YouTube

I think some of you may have preferred this one, it's on a similar theme.

Gimme Back My Dog (youtube.com)

I'm going to end this post soon, dear reader, just a few more from me.

Booze & Glory - "London Skinhead Crew" - Official Video (HD) (youtube.com)

And on a different theme, you've got to love the British sense of humour.
