Afternoon my diminished readership. Some time ago I got around to thinking about Media Studies courses and why they weren't more popular with some of the urban youth who aspire to a career in the music and film industry.

Well, this is what AI says about Media Studies courses at UK universities.

Media studies courses teach students about the media industry and how it affects media products, as well as how media and culture influence each other. Students also learn about media audiences and how different people respond to media products.
Looking at this quote makes me think that all of these courses focus way too much on the sociological factors that influence media consumption and nowhere near enough on the practical side of things that can lead to a career in all types of media: new media content production such as the internet, English language, music and T.V. and film production, lighting etc.

I thought that if some of these courses could be changed to allow this it could convince some young people to choose a successful career and life rather than a short life on the outside or a long one on the inside.

Having spent a short time in prison I can assure people it is not a prospect I would readily want to reconsider.

  Dances With Wolves My second post! I checked my vital statistics and decided it wasn't time to sound the Last Post just yet, much as I felt like it yesterday. If you got the money we got the sound, you put it up we'll put it down Sorry folks this is another post about mental health and conspiracies so it should be fun for someone incorrectly diagnosed as a Schizophrenic like me.
