I've recently been released after 6 weeks inside Goodmayes psychiatric hospital and whilst in there I came to realise that the staff are nowhere near as bad as I'd believed previously.

They work very long shifts surrounded by a cacophony of noise and virtual chaos as patients struggle to have their immediate needs met whilst the nurses and healthcare workers struggle to keep on top of their admin.

I didn't help during the first week of my stay when I was withdrawing from nicotine and very vociferously and at times outrageously tried to have my addiction fed. On one occasion I even urinated up the door to their office such was my frustration at not having any nicotine, so for that I am truly sorry.

Once I calmed down I found the staff really quite kind and respectful and I apologise for my behaviour unreservedly.

There were a couple of staff who went the extra mile to help, a healthcare worker called Kimberly who even gave up her break so that I could buy vapes at the vending machine and a nurse called Mompat who was always friendly and helpful.

So once again sorry guys, you're not so bad after all although I hope we don't meet too many more times.

  Dances With Wolves My second post! I checked my vital statistics and decided it wasn't time to sound the Last Post just yet, much as I felt like it yesterday. I hope with   this post I can explain a bit better some of my experiences since entering the mental health services as a 'client' (yes I know we all pay for the NHS one way or another if we're able to) but as far as I can work out I'm just a Job to them and they've certainly tested my patience sorely at times over the last fifteen years. If you got the money we got the sound, you put it up we'll put it down Sorry folks this is another post about mental health and conspiracies so it should be fun for someone incorrectly diagnosed as a Schizophrenic like me.
